Answer: B) Diamond is the hardest, coke is the softest.

Among the various allotropes of carbon, diamond is the hardest, and coke is the softest. Diamond is the form of carbon with the highest hardness, which makes it one of the most valuable gemstones.

On the other end of the hardness spectrum, coke has a lower hardness and can be found in industrial uses such as fuel or in metal production. Graphite also falls within the allotropes of carbon, but it is in the middle of the hardness level between diamond and coke. Finally, lamp black is an amorphous form of carbon which has a very low hardness and is mostly used for black pigment.
