Answer: There are no universal bra sizes. Some manufacturers have sizing in terms of cups, others in terms of inches or centimeters. Whatever size you wear, there’s absolutely nothing to be ashamed about.
If your bra size is 34 C, it means your bra band measures around 34 inches or just under 88 cm, and that you take a cup size of C. If the bra were an American bra size, the letter would most likely mean that according to their sizing, your breasts are between an A-C cup, or that bra size would be 34A or 34B.
As with any aspect of clothing sizing, however, different manufacturers and retailers use different standards for their bra lines and it can get confusing, and difficult to compare measurements across brands (or even if the same brand changes its design!). The international standard is metric-based — 85-100cm / 34A-38C — but many U.S.-based brands instead use a differently worded standard mostly starting at 32B (with some overlap into 30DDD). The main thing is not to worry about getting the “one true” size, but instead find bra styles that work for you.
Answer:
It is hard to say whether they are small, medium or large. The answer will depend on what you’re currently comparing it to. 100% of the population has breasts of varying sizes and shapes, so any bra size can be seen in people with different breast sizes (i.e 34D vs 34A).
It doesn’t matter too much in most cases because it depends on each woman’s unique body measurements and preference with what fits them best. However, according to bra sizing charts in most countries an undersized breast tends to fit into the small category – that means 34B would then be seen as “small”. On the flip side, per definition overbraised breast is larger than average – that means bigger than 34 C bra size.
The best way to choose the bra that fits you the best is: Measure your own bra size and fit against bra sizing charts available online (e.g. bra-sizes.com, brafitting.info). Many women don’t realize they could actually get a better fitting bra if they would measure their bra size correctly. Then, try bra models in your bra size on at bra fitting stores/booths to find out what bra model fits you the best (e.g.: T-shirt bra, push-up bra etc.). This takes time but will give you the best fit that most women don’t know they deserve!
