      What is a Symbiotic Relationship?

Symbiotic relationships are relationships between two or more species that live and benefit from each other, while neither would exist without the other. Examples of symbiotic relationships include bee colonies and coral reefs. Symbiosis is not limited to living things, but can also include non-living things such as magnetic fields or the Earth’s atmosphere.

The symbiosis between plants and animals promotes biodiversity and helps them flourish. It is one of the reasons why life is so abundant on Earth.

The Symbiotic Relationship Between Humans and Bacteria

The symbiotic relationship between humans and bacteria has been around for centuries. The bacteria are used to break down the human waste that we produce in large quantities. These bacteria also help break down proteins and carbohydrates in the human body, as well as plants, with the release of their biogases.

In return for all this service, humans have given these bacteria a place to live – our intestines. Bacteria can also be found on our skin, hair, and nails

The microbiome is an example of how humans show their appreciation for one another. It represents a mutually beneficial relationship with a single species in which there are cooperative relationships between two or more species that depend on one another either physically or energetically.
