For the parallel operation of single-phase transformers, it is necessary that they have the same efficiency, polarity, and kVA rating. The primary windings of the transformers should be suitable for the supply system voltage and the voltage ratio of all connected transformers must be the same.
Additionally, when making the connections, the terminal polarity of the transformers must be observed in order to ensure that the operation is successful. This is an economical method as a single large transformer can be uneconomical for large loads.
