Science and technology have changed our lives in many ways. From the time we wake up in the morning, we can turn on the lights with a touch, avoid traffic jams with GPS navigation apps, and read news with digital publications.
Science has also helped us understand human behavior better. For example, neuroscientists are studying how implicit attitudes about race influence our decisions when it comes to hiring and promoting employees. They have found that implicit bias exists even among people who describe themselves as unbiased.
Scientific discoveries often lead to new inventions which change our day-to-day life as well. For example, scientists created artificial intelligence (AI) technology years ago which led to advances in virtual assistants like Siri and Alexa that can answer any queries you throw at them – without delay!
Science and technology are the driving forces in changing our society. However, it is not just the scientists who are responsible for this progress. The people who use these technologies also have a role in making sure that these advances benefit everyone.
The process of science has always been an ever-evolving one, and technology has changed over time as well. When we think about science and technology for every day life, we often think of familiar things like smartphones and computers. But there are many other ways in which science and technology influence our lives regularly.
In order to make sure that science is doing some good for humanity, people need to be aware of what they can do to help change the world around them.
The History of Science and Technology
This section provides a brief history of science and technology. It covers the key events that led to the success of science and technology.
There are three key aspects that made the development of science possible. These are:
– The Enlightenment – a series of intellectual and cultural movements that occurred in Europe from the late 17th century until the early 18th century, characterized by philosophical skepticism, scientific rationalism, and belief in progress
– The Scientific Revolution – a period spanning from around 1500 to 1700 AD during which Western civilization transitioned from a largely intuition-based form of knowledge to one based on reason, experiment, mathematics and empiricism
Industrialization – an era beginning in about 1750 with the introduction of new machines such as steam engines, spinning jennies and power looms
How Does Science And Technology Help Everyday Life?
Science and technology have been used in our everyday life since the beginning of civilizations. It has helped us to advance our human civilization, learn more about the world around us, and improve production levels. Science and technology has given us many benefits in terms of health, productivity, efficiency, civilization development, etc., but it also comes with risks that are not always understood by the general population. The field of science includes many different areas such as physics, chemistry, engineering, medicine and biology. There are a lot of other technologies like green energy or artificial intelligence that help with efficiency in everyday life.
Green energy is one of many technologies that are helping us decrease our impact on the environment. Several countries have turned to renewable resources and green technology to provide power for their citizens. Artificial intelligence systems are also part of the new age revolution and are saving businesses a lot of time by automating tedious tasks such as data analysis, marketing, and customer service.
