Octopuses have three hearts. Octopuses have two gills, one on each side of their body. These gills are made up of clusters of small capillaries that extract oxygen from the water. The octopus has 300 million neurons. The octopus has a beak that can bite prey, but also suck food into its mouth through the funnel. Octopuses usually eat crustaceans and mollusks, but they may also eat fish, worms, and other octopuses.
An octopus has 3 hearts. Cardiovascular system of an octopus is unique: it has 3 hearts, 2 of them are pumping blood to gills and one – to the rest of the body. This allows it to move fast and remain undetected by its prey since a heart is located near its head so octopus can direct blood flow away from its body while hiding.
