      The Answer Is. B
Insertion of resistance in the stator of an induction motor.
Source: cdn4.explainthatstuff.com

      Answer:

Inserting resistance in the stator of an induction motor decreases the starting torque.

This is because the voltage drop caused by the inserted resistor reduces the voltage across the rotor windings, thus decreasing the rotor current and the torque produced.

Furthermore, this decreased voltage also reduces the locked rotor current (LRC). This type of starter is often used for loads with very high inertia, as it helps reduce start current and torque.
