The correct answer is A) Small Intestine

The small intestine is the longest part of the alimentary canal, measuring 6-7 meters long in an average adult. The small intestine is responsible for the majority of nutrient absorption in the digestive system, and its length allows for sufficient time for the small intestine’s many finger-like projections, called villi, to absorb nutrients from food into the bloodstream.

      A) Small Intestine – The small intestine is the longest part of the alimentary canal, with an average length of 6 meters in an adult human. It is where most of the digestion and absorption of food takes place, with the help of digestive enzymes and bile produced by the pancreas and liver.

      B) Large Intestine – The large intestine is much shorter than the small intestine, with an average length of 1.5 meters in an adult human. Its main functions include absorbing water and electrolytes from the remaining undigested material and compacting the waste material into feces.

      C) Esophagus – The esophagus is a muscular tube that connects the pharynx to the stomach. Its main function is to transport food from the mouth to the stomach by contracting and relaxing its muscular wall.

      D) Both A and C – This answer is incorrect as the length of the esophagus is much shorter than either the small intestine or the large intestine.

The correct answer is option A) Small Intestine
