      2. Tamil:

      • Tamil is a classical language with a rich literary tradition dating back to the Sangam era.
      • It is spoken by over 70 million people in the southern state of Tamil Nadu and parts of Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Malaysia.

      3. Kannada:

      • Kannada is the official language of the southern state of Karnataka and is spoken by over 44 million people.
      • It has a rich literary heritage dating back to the 9th century AD.

      4. Malayalam:

      • Malayalam is the only Dravidian language with its own script and is spoken by over 38 million people primarily in the southern state of Kerala.
