One of the simplest things that one can do to increase one’s happiness is to attend art classes. This increases happiness because in this class, one learns how to draw, paint or sculpt. The act of drawing in itself releases happy hormones into the body. This also allows one to express happiness, which makes the person happy!
Another way that can make a person happy is by spending time with loved ones. Spending quality time with family and friends will not only increase happiness in both parties involved but it will strengthen relationships as well. Not many people know this; however, happy oxytocin levels are increased when we spend time with others and strengthens our social bonds thereby making us happier too!
Here are some suggestions.
I’ve always thought that the concept of happiness was both impossible to define and impossible to measure, which is why I find it so odd that people seem compelled to study it at all! At least people who study intelligence have a clear definition of what they’re studying (even if it can be controversial). But happiness? It seems like whatever decision you make will influence your level of happiness in different ways…so how do you quantify that into something that’s actually meaningful?
Nonetheless, there are lots of studies on “happiness”, and lots of advice about what makes us happy. According to numerous studies, these are among the simplest ways to boost your (subjective) sense of well-being:
1 . Give someone a compliment.
It’s a small act, but giving someone a genuine compliment can make them feel good about themselves and increase their happiness level.
2 . Exercise.
Although it can be hard to get started, once you’re in the groove of a regular exercise routine, you’ll likely find that you’re happier overall. Exercise releases endorphins, which have mood-boosting effects.
3 . Spend time with friends and family.
Socializing is one of the key ingredients to happiness, so make sure to schedule regular time with your loved ones!
4 . Wake up early.
Waking up early gives you a head start on the day and allows you to get things before the rest of the world wakes up. This can lead to a feeling of productivity and accomplishment.
5 . Connect with nature.
Spending time outside, in nature, has been shown to increase happiness levels. Whether you’re hiking, camping, or simply taking a walk in the park, getting outdoors is great for your happiness!
6 . Eat healthy foods.
Eating junk food might make you feel good in the moment, but it’s unlikely to have a lasting impact on your overall happiness level. Eating nutritious foods, on the other hand, will give you sustained energy and positive vibes.
7 . Practice mindfulness.
Mindfulness is the act of being present in the moment and fully experiencing what’s happening around you. This can help you appreciate life more and be happier overall.
8 . Volunteer your time.
Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community and make a positive impact in the world. It can also be very rewarding and increase your happiness level.
9 . Find your passion.
Passion is what drives us to do our best work and puts a smile on our face. When we’re passionate about something, it’s easy to be happy. Figure out what you’re passionate about and go for it!
10 . Laugh often.
Laughter is one of the most infectious emotions there is, and it’s also one of the happiest. Make sure to find things that make you laugh and do them often! There are plenty of other things that can make us happy, of course, but these are a good place to start. Happiness is subjective, so find what works best for you and go with it!
There are a number of things that we can do to make ourselves happier. The first action to take is to let go of expectations. Each of us expects something from the other, and when that expectation is not met, disappointment sets in and makes us unhappy. We must learn to accept things as they are. Another way to increase happiness is to learn the art of recognition. We must learn to take note of what we have and be thankful for it. When we are thankful for what we have and not always in search of more, we are happier.
