What are your thoughts on Google Analytics vs other analytics platforms?

Recently heard about Heap which seems pretty cool, but I’m not sure if it would really be valuable, or simply another tool that I need to check. We are not at the point of using HubSpot/Marketo yet so Heap’s free plan could be a useful stopgap tool.

Do you use Heap? If so, what do you think?

If not, what analytics tool do you use and what are the pros/cons?

Most people have Google Analytics installed, but would not watch the reports very often. People use it mainly to see how many people are visiting their site, but they do not look into it much. So, I think it is good to have Google Analytics, but it is important to review your reports regularly. The other important thing to remember, when you are setting up a website is to make sure that you are tracking the right events. If a customer signs up for your newsletter, you will want to track a unique event such as a newsletter signup. Then, you can start to see how many people are subscribing to your newsletter, and how much revenue you are getting from this. As I have mentioned at the beginning, Google Analytics is the most popular analytics platform, but it is worth checking out other platforms before you decide on this.
