Answer: AM stands for “ante meridiem” and PM stands for ‘post meridiem‘

The 12-hour clock system falls into two sets of one military (or “mathematical”) time and the other civil (or “temporal”) time. The hours from midnight to noon are called mathematically, or written as a decimal number, twelve o’clock; those before this hour we say we’re in the morning. This system is primarily used in military and mathematics contexts. Civilians primarily use a 24-hour clock which uses two times: Before Midnight and After Midnight. The practice of starting the day after midnight originated with Christians around 500 CE to mark out periods of prayer through the night beginning at 11 PM.

      Answer:
A.M. stands for “ante meridiem,” which means “before noon” in Latin, and P.M. is short for “post meridiem,” which translated from Latin to English means “after noon.”
