Answer: Young Nigga World (Young New Wave)
YNW is a slang term that was used as early as 2012 by rap artist Boss’lanta. In 2013, the acronym became popular within the black community as a response against society’s rigid standards of success and beauty. It can be interpreted as “You’re Not Welcome” or “You’re Not Wrong.” The meaning of YNW has been written off by some as a way to excuse borderline violent behavior due to an individual having not achieved their desired levels of materialistic accumulation.
Answer: “Young Nigga World (Young New Wave)” is an acronym for YNW.
An example of the use of this acronym in pop culture would be Jaden Smith’s song titled YNWTS, which stands for You Need to Calm The Fuck Down.
“You’re Not Wrong” is used similarly, but more often means that they disagree with you rather than meaning that they want you to stop talking. It also is commonly used when talking about truth or facts or referring to something that’s factually wrong like “the earth isn’t flat.”
“You’re not welcome,” on the other hand, can have several meanings depending on context so it’s usually only used by people who are threatening someone else.
