I will be 17 and also have never had the opportunity to correctly pronounce my R’s. They generally end up sounding like l’s or w’s. I went along to speech therapy as a young child but no more do. This could be excellent, as speech therapists cost a lot of money, if anybody has some easy at – home exercises. Thanks!
First and foremost, do not give up. correctly you highly – motivated to actually at this difficult sound to work. Also, not hard in not to be able to / r / sound control while young. it is the most exciting sound to successfully improve, and there is a rather large percentage of people who never their production of / r / can fully improve.
The main thing holding back the parts of your mouth for correct placement of / r / can successfully navigate. I was standing on the bathroom mirror everyday advice and doing tongue exercises that when lifting the sides of your mid to rear tongue and touching them on the inside of your upper teeth concentrate. practice moving your tongue sides alternately against the sides of your upper teeth. this is where your tongue should be when producing / r /. as for the mid section and the front of your tongue, you have to practice required that a “make; headline like” motion with it. these are the two basic placements for / r /. I would also do some in the revocation of your tongue practicing that (with it on your front top teeth starts and scrapes back along the top of your mouth. a fun challenge your tongint rekken does reinforce is drinking pudding (a snackkop) of a regular straw that is cut in half. this is difficult to do but reinforces those tongue muscles retract and actually mimics the placement after your tongue in producing / r / required.
