M.P.S.C stands for Maharashtra Public Service Commission, which is the state-level civil service recruitment board for officers in the Government of Maharashtra. It is similar to the UPSC in India.

The MPSC was established on 1 April 1960 under an Act of Parliament called the “Maharashtra Public Services SelectionCommission (Amendment) Act, 1995”. The main objective behind establishing this commission was to increase transparency and meritocracy in public service appointments by ensuring that they were based purely on qualifications and not on any other factors such as family connections or wealth privilege.
