Belgaum Cantonment was established in the year 1832 by the East India Company and is now governed by the Belgaum Cantonment Board. It is one of the oldest cantonments in the country and is composed of two zones, the main Cantonment, and the Fort zone.
This cantonment is located in the Belgaum district in the state of Karnataka, India, and has been studied in order to understand its development as an urban cantonment. You can find documents related to the demarcation of the Bazar Area in Belgaum Cantonment dating back to 1939.
