    The Answer Is    B

RT-PCR stands for Real-Time Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction.

It is a highly sensitive method for detecting the presence of specific genetic material in any pathogen, including SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. RT-PCR testing has been used to diagnose people infected with the virus, as well as to track its prevalence in populations.

It is typically done using nasopharyngeal and throat swab specimens and is considered the gold standard for COVID-19 diagnostics.

It has been estimated that the prevalence of COVID-19 diagnosed by nasopharyngeal and throat swab RT-PCR is 93%. In response to the pandemic, state public health departments have been supplied with testing kits to facilitate rapid and widespread testing.
